Are there any good ones? Preferably ones that are easy to get in to, I'm aiming this for someone who isn't too interested in games but is very interested in the period.
edit: for PC, sorry.

IMO the best civil war game is the civil war generals series by sierra. There are mechanics and calculations in the background, but everything is very intuitive and you don't need to worry about the math to get good and historical results.
This probably isn't what you're looking for, but No Greater Glory is a really good strategic level Civil War game. I don't think it's particularly hard to get into, except for the fact that it's two decades old and runs on DOS.
I played Civil War Generals 2 for a decade. Like any hex based game it won't wow you with its graphics. It's a great game that doesn't really feel that dated because there are only so many things you can do with a hex-map. There are some really in depth hex-based wargames out there for the Civil War, but they have a very steep learning curve so they aren't exactly for someone who isn't into that style of game.

Anything related to civilization HAS to be good, thusly I second the mods.
