so iam getting a 360 tomorrow and i can get two games with it. i cant decide what games. i really dont know what to get. i got oblivion on my pc, i beat fear and prey already on pc, i also beat gears of war 2 times and i cant get live yet. i like dead rising but iam told not to buy it.
Dead Rising, and Project Gotham Racing 3. Great showpiece for the system's graphical capabilities, awesome racing experience, and if you only have two games, you're going to need two games of extreme contrast/variety. Dead Rising + Project Gotham will do that for you. The other huge benefit here is that PGR3 is only $20 now.
edit: high five, xzzy!
Alternatively, I'd go with a Saint's Row + Splinter Cell combo. Again, contrasts: One loud, silly, and carefree; one quiet, focused and intelligent. Both excellent games.

Don't get R63 if you don't have LIVE.
is the single player not worth it? i might end up using my 1 month of live IF we change internet witch i really hope we do.
Condemned should be purchased now before it becomes hard to come by.

Dead Rising would only not be recomended if you have a standard definition TV set.
What are you looking for in the games though? We can all list games we like but you need to at least give us a general idea. Ie Best Tacticle Shooter and Best Racer.
Also pony up the piddling amount and get Geometry Wars.
cj iwakura, N3 is nowhere near as bad as the reviews say. If you're a fan of beat em ups or of the levels in Otogi 1/2 where you fight a shitload of enemies it's great.

Good to know. I like beat em ups enough to get one if the guy behind Rez was responsible.
Doesn't anyone rent games anymore? Dead Rising is a good rental, as is King Kong. Not worth buying because you beat them once and you never play them again. Saints Row is pretty much GTA4 in my eyes, with the absence of motorcycles. It's actually a surprisingly good game considering I'm completely burned out on GTA. PGR3 is quite good as well and has quite a bit of single player longevity. Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter is very solid, as is Rainbow Six Las Vegas. Rainbow Six is even better online if you have a couple of skilled teammates. I guess since you don't have Live, you'd be better off renting it. Never got into Splinter Cell myself, but if you liked it's predecessors, I hear its good. I've yet to hear a bad word about Viva Pinata, but I haven't played it. It's reputation is excellent though. Burnout was crap. Wait for the next version to come out because that's supposed to be the next real sequel.

any suggestions?
After reading your quote I would only reccomend Dead Rising.
For me, there exists only 3 great games for 360....
Btw, this is a bit offtopic, but how loud is the Xbox 360 compared to a PS2? I'm trying to justify holding off an a 360 for now... until a new version comes out or a really good pricedrop/bundle... or something... oy.

What? Isn't the whole idea behind Dead Rising that you play it over and over again? I mean, you keep your levels when you restart, there are something like six endings, a whole lot of achievements to get and a few unlockables. Everything I've ever read about DR is that it's not a "beat it once and never again" game - hell, apparently the difficulty is so extreme that even beating it the first time around is nigh-impossible.
got my games. VEGAS it is. i was going to get dead rising but then the guy at eb jumped up and said SC double agent is on sale for 35 dollars for the week only. so i ended up getting that. i got a head start now due to the low costing game on my next game buy so either dead rising or saints row or something in 2-3 weeks.
If you aren't online, my two definite choices would be Viva Pinata and Dead Rising (yes, even on an SD set), the replay on these two games in single player are outstanding.

Halo 3, Def Jam: Icon, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Guitar Hero II, Gears of War 2, assassins creed, resident evil 5, virtual fighter 5, bioshock, mass effect, Fable 2, Halo wars, Half-Life 2, Ridge Racer 6, Unreal Tournament 2007 is some
For about 3 weeks.
Haven't touched it since.
I wish I could say N3, because Tetsuya Mizuguchi is god in my eyes, but the reviews speak for itself. I guess he should stick to music games.
This year/next year?: Resident Evil 5, Lost Odyssey, Alan Wake, Assassin's Creed, Too Human
Loads of awesome.
edit - beat'd

Does anyone recommend that King Kong movie game for 360? I heard it is a well put together game, and it can be had for cheap.
Made by Micheal ancel (who I have a man crush on) genious behind rayman and BG&E
Also for comming out soon, I see no mention of GRAW2 and Forza 2, both bound to be must haves, and Armored Core 4 if your into that sort of thing.
