University housing advice (UK)

I'm in my first year at uni. I'm not sure what to do about my housing situation next year. While I have made friends, most of them had already sorted out houses by the time I met them so my options are:

#1 - Move into a house with the other people in my corridor. I don't particularly like the guys on my corridor, but neither do I massively dislike them. Indifferent really.

#2 - Stay in halls in my second year. Negative points to this are it being more expensive and (I know this sounds pathetic) looking really bad socially. Plus points are I might find people I actually want to live with, and living in a nicer area.

#3 find a room in another student house/flat. Get introduced to a new social circle and not have to put up with halls for another year

Ideally, flatmates are should be people you can get on with, rather than your friends. So if you get on with them enough, and think they'll be responsible enough to pay bills then it's probably the best option.

Hunting for a room in a flatshare, especially with other students is usually a gigantic pain in the tit.
