OTC small animal (rodent) anti-biotics?

I have a gerbil I'm treating for an abcess in the jaw. It's going well but I was wondering if there was any OTC (and not overly expensive) anti-biotics made with rodents in mind? I've been letting the wound drain on a daily basis, but I don't think general anti-septic is getting it as clean as I'd like.

Thanks in advance!

Antibiotics aren't really an over the counter thing, for people or animals.

On the upside, they're incredibly cheap at a vet. I can't imagine paying less for any kind of medicine ever.

edit: This is depending on the country. You may be able to find something if you're in a farm community in the United States or in a drug store in Mexico.
