So I figure it's time for a new School thread. Since finals are in roughly a month, at least for me.
Currently I have to do a presentation on the historical background of Muromachi and Momoyama Japan.
I figured, I'll be early and I can rap with other people who are presenting so our stuff doesn't get all redundant.

I'm at my apartment trying to study, and planning the rest of my break, as I didn't go down to the coast due to monetary restrictions! So I'm gonna study a little today, and throughout the rest of the week (chapter a day gives me Monday and most of Tuesday to review summaries) and test at 2 on Tuesday.
Cause all my friends back home are either working or their school doesn't let out until next week.
I'm learning about mycoplasma infections right now.... Or supposedly. I can stream my lectures from home, so I'm watching class on the toilet.

I missed a lot of the lectures and really had no clue what i was doing so I figured I'd rather drop it then get a D in the course
I need to take a few extra electives some semesters anyway so I might as well just have one extra semester
plus this way I can better concentrate on all my other shit

drop classes erryday
the only problem I foresee with dropping that class is now I have to worry about getting into it first semester next year because i need to get it done to get my funding
If I bomb my presentation I might drop Asian Art...
...that would not be good though cause my Friday European Art 1600-1750 class is way harder

Felt pretty good. It was after the freebie drop date, which means that if I ever get close to the six drop limit, then I have to appeal the drop and prove that I dropped it because I tested out of the class in the middle of the semester.
Don't think I'll ever have to do that though.
it didn't used have to have a prerequisite, now we need to take a placement exam
if your act score is above 21 you automatically get in, but if you're like me and your scores are older than two years they don't count
I tried the placement exam last semester and failed it by a few points because it had way more questions on evolution and ecology than we had ever learned in high school bio. Need to pass it this semester to take the class in the summer.
Also, Carleton lets you have a few free Fs I believe
like 3 or 4 or something.

as in getting a D- in it once and then retaking it and getting, say, an A+
And like, if you have so many courses taken, they just cancel out your bottom grades.
I think at least, Agnes went through something like that when applying for her Masters program.

it just doesn't make any sense to have you place into it if the prereq doesn't have anything to do with what the class teaches
not to mention it's a poke in the eye that a 21 on your ACT can get you into the class
you could sleep through the ACT and still get a 21
