    It feels good.

I want a pair of Flygon goggles.

    Also, Bug/Dragon, overpowered? What?

    Weak to: Ice, Rock, Dragon.
Resists: Water, Grass, Bug, Poison, Electric, Ground.

That doesn't seem overpowered. Ice, Rock and Dragon are pretty common attacks.

I am quite happy with Flygon's typing

however Bug type with Tinted Lens/Compoundeyes would be cool with NVE attacks and Fire Blast/Stone Edge

I caught 3 shellder and 2 of the fire type

I only caught 3 shellder because I'm giving one away, evolving one into cloyster, and keeping one as a shellder because shiny shellder is boss

    edit: shellder shellder shellder

Shiny Cloyster really isn't all that neat. Shiny Shellder, on the other hand...

Munkus, I has THE NEW BOJANGLES for you. Also, as he doesn't want the egg, there's a Fake Out (+surprise) Jolly Run Away Aipom egg for anyone that wants it.

Also, three trained Starmies to rape the battle tower, but these are only for new players who need some help getting BP for the EV Training items.

    What terrible shinys are there?

There are some shinys that are almost indistinguishable from the normal form.

Shellos (Both kinds) and Xatu are probably the worst offenders.

There are a bunch that start off neat and end up lame (like Shellder), too.

Vibrava looks awesome as a shiny. But then as a Flygon, it is inferior to the normal version.

And Garchomp is a pokemon that, ironically, I love the aesthetics of but he's too dang good so I can't/don't use him.

I'm kind of tempted to get back into the Pokemon game. Thing is, having recently finished a Pearl playthrough I crave something different.

Something I have been tempted to do recently is make a viable team from nothing but small cute pokemon. This is, rather unsurprisingly, pretty hard. My only good candidates so far are Espeon and Roserade, and those are at the limit of how large and cool I want my pokemon to be. Marowak might also have a spot.

Any suggestions other than that? I am considering allowing a legendary, but I haven't really caught any of the really cute ones in my old game.

Edit: I should note that "Viable" means possible to beat the game with without lots of level grinding, not high level play.

Vic: You'd be surprised, just about any pokemon you like can be used to beat the game. The single-player is pretty forgiving.

I found the end of Pearl to be pretty punishing actually, but that was with pokemon ranging in level from 52-55. I'd frequently come up against pokemon that could take out most of my team in one shot each thanks to terrific spreads of move type and high attack stats.

More to the point however, I guess that I simply want my team to be as powerful as it can be. I want a cute but strong team if I can, not just a cute and dumb one.

Well, the E4 are always pretty strong, no matter what your team is. As for your team, it would really depend on what you personally think is cute.

the E4 in every game was easy as fuck except diamond/pearl, but that's because if you didn't actively try to train your pokemon a lot before it you'd walk in and get raped

I beat the last gym leader with low level 40s and walked into the elite 4 barely leveled up and the champ kicked my ass

Checking my hall of fame, it seems I somehow beat the E4 the first time using:

    Empoleon, Lvl 68
    Gyrados, Lvl 43
    Quagsire, Lvl 40
    Bidoof, Lvl 13
    Geodude, Lvl 13
    HootHoot, Lvl 14

So it seems you can actually walk in and take down the E4 without knowing what you're doing.

Also I'm still looking for an electrizer, as I've got a dude that needs evolving to replace a dragon that some dude in Japan pulled out of his ass one day apparently.

Yukira: I heard that some of the new evolutions were added to the Johto Dex, but I'm not sure which.

EDIT Mammoswine is in, still checking on the others. Tangrowth and Lickilicky too. Yanmega and Ambipom also, but not any that require items (No Gliscor, Magmotar, or Electivire.)

Hmm, well, with a Mismagius, I can trade it over to Platinum, evolve it, and trade it back, it's not like it'll be learning abilities after that point.

It's pretty much what's bound to happen when you use your starter for everything and don't find the need to switch out.
