[Let's Play] Mega Man 9

Because no one else has done it, and I am probably the least qualified, I will be playing Mega Man 9 for ya'll's enjoyment. Pre-emptive apologies all around for my general suckitude, hopefully that just makes it more fun though. I used up all my creative juices on my screenshot LPs, so without further ad, Meg Man 9, as played by someone really bad at it:

You mention input lag. Do you mean the lag while capturing, or the same kind of control lag I felt while playing the MM10 demo on PS3?

The former, it plays very smoothly normally, it's just running the video through my pc gives like a .2 second delay to things. Which makes me even worse than normal. I could fix this by splitting the video, except that my monitor actually is my tv, so that's a bit unfeasible for now.

I usually try and get bees as early as possible, because:

1. Bees let you get all the hard to reach 1ups in all the stages, so you have a full load when entering Dr. Wily's Castle
2. Bees are an awesome replacement for mega buster in many situations.

Hornet man is pretty tough, though. I start out with magma man (my recommendation for second), who is a little easier, then hornet is a cakewalk.

Edit: As a bonus, your black holes will run that fire dragon's face.

It's really weird to think this but yes, the Wii version is visually superior to the other two because the game was designed around running in 480i. It looks a bit murky on the other two. Also both the Classic Controller and even the Wii Remote on its side are better controllers for this game.

Ugh, I was playing the MM10 demo on PS3. Using the analog stick is mushy and gives you no control.

Well Kayne you are official better than me at this game as I've yet to even defeat a single boss...I should really remedy this. You are actually kind of inspirational to me.

Probably my favorite thing about Mega Man is that it is balls hard. However! If you are persistent enough, you can actually see yourself improving. Just be patient and don't give up. Like I said in the video, I find Galaxy Man to be a really good starting place, so maybe try him first.

Take care of Splash Woman and Jewel Man early. Most of the weapons in this game are useful, but theirs are the best.

Arrgh, I remember hating that bubble jumping puzzle. Just underwater levels in general.

Sure. But then I'd never beat the game. I'm not going to go around using special weapons all the time, but if they're going to make life easier then I'm using them.

I played the MM10 demo, and I felt that Capcom sucks at picking a demo stage. Both MM9 and MM10's demo stages seem oddly hard for you to run through with only your buster

I don't know if it's Schadenfreude or what, but for some reason I find watching people who are terrible at a game very entertaining. Also, I don't know if you were aware of it but the audio from your commentary seemed to be a little bit ahead of the video.

Yeah, I enjoy it too, which is why I thought this would be a fun change of pace. I am aware of the audio problems, and am working on a fix.

I've gotten to Wily a lot, but I can never beat him before I need to quit, meaning that I have to do the whole castle again.

Bleh. Maybe in some Mega Man games, but not this one. The master weapons are way too useful and fun to toss aside altogether.

I am both alive and continuing this, my time has been a bit curtailed recently and both my LPs are suffering from it, for which I am very apologetic. I'll try to get another set up within the next few days.
