Not a bad week.

God of War 3 comes out this week. Will its $40+ million dollar budget pay off? My magic eight ball says all signs point to yes.

For NDS we have Infinite Space, the RPG for DS by PlatinumGames. A space armada exploration branching story arc style game. NDS also gets the two newest Pokemon games so yay for that.

PC gets a bunch of expansions/dlc, but also Metro 2033, which I haven't heard much about. Also Metro comes out on 360 as well.

PS3 and 360 get Resonance of Fate, a triAce RPG.

Wii gets an interesting game called Fragile Dreams. Not sure if it's an RPG or what but it's been out in Japan for forever. Might be one of these polarizing games.

Also, 360's XBLA should be getting Perfect Dark (N64), the upgraded port.

    Dang. Lots of nice stuff.

    God of War most definitely.

I'll think about Infinite Space. I want to see some reviews.

I want to know more about Metro 2033, but I have enough post-apocalyptic shooters to last me until after the apocalypse.

Resonance of Fate looks nifty and the demo was fun, but I'm in the middle of FFXIII.

And Fragile Dreams is interesting, but I'll wait on reviews.

This is my single biggest week of the first half of the year. Infinite Space, Fragile and DAO:Awakening. I'm still working on FFXIII, Heavy Rain, Bowser's Inside Story, Demon's Souls, Muramasa, ABaHB, and I somehow managed to shoehorn some EQ2 in there.

Thank god Strange Journey and 3D Dot Game Heroes are the final games I've preordered through June. I might be able to finish some of this before the fall rush hits.

Want to hear more about Metro, but the plan for this week is to try and not get distracted by Perfect Dark while I work my way through No More Heroes 2 and my Wii Ware backlog.

I already bought Pokemon Soul Silver yesterday during launch and got my figures from Gamestop. (My brother got HeartGold and gave me his figure.)

I still need to find the money for Infinite Space. :(

Fragile is basically a hybrid of Silent Hill and an RPG, from what I've heard. The cover's gorgeous, if nothing else.

Infinite Space is a definite want for me, Resonance of Fate & Fragile are maybes. Unfortunately none of them are going to be purchased any time soon - FF13 looks like it'll keep me busy for quite some time.

Wow, Fragile? I'd been waiting on that since... the Wii's release. It's too bad I can't buy it. :(

That'll go in the GF queue. Maybe God of War 3 but I couldn't enjoy God of War 1 enough to even complete it. So I think it'd be a bad idea to go straight to 3.

I will! I should be able to post some impressions tomorrow afternoon. It looks right up my alley, I hope it executes well on everything they've promised. Their engine seems darn impressive.

I know it was an 8.0 but I'd like to know what they liked and didn't like all the same

One day shipping would be... one day after they ship it, there's no particular guarantee on which day it'll ship on. Release day delivery means that they will ship it such that it arrives in your hands on the day of release for the product.

This week is kinda like a little break between FF13 and Strange Journey for me. I'll catch up with the stuff released here later.

I played the first couple of chapters of Metro 2033 on PC. It's a rather linear, atmospheric shooter and I've seen a couple of great set piece moments already. The shooting feels solid, very much in line with other shooters using the aim down the sights model.

Really though, the graphics are the most impressive thing here. They're gorgeous. It has a little animation hitch every now and then, but other than that, this is one of the finest looking games I've seen. Can't wait to see what the 360 version looks like, I've heard good things

It has the Stalker vibe for sure but it's a much more directed game. You have a compass you can look at which clearly tells you where to go, but you don't have to use it at all if you don't want to. It's still somewhat linear though. I'd liken it to Bioshock but with the vibe/setting of Stalker, or maybe a Starbreeze game. Yes, there's a guy chilling playing a guitar near a fire, and yes, I was handed a shotgun during a chase sequence. The voice acting is surprisingly competent, although it's mixed a little strangely.

So yeah, game is great so far, but the tech is the real standout here. Haven't seen anything "new" yet, but everything it does, it seems to do well.

I'll probably talk a little bit about the 360 version tomorrow. I'm surprised that these graphics haven't been more hyped up by the games media overall.

EDIT: Using the hand-pumped generator to power up the flashlight batteries is pretty darn cool.

I played a bit of the 360 version of Metro 2033. The framerate and controls are great, and although it's missing some of the fancy graphics effects from the PC version, it still looks phenomenal. Glad I picked up both versions, I'm happy to support this new developer.
