I find, being a gamer, that I am always on the subconscious hunt for a rare game or gaming collectible that might further bring meaning to my life. ;P
For example, I was recently at my local game store as a person was trading in a stack of highly sought after and well reviewed games: Lunar 2 complete, Arc the Lad Collection, Earthbound..
I left the store with all of them. I paid $250 (That's Canadian dollars).
I just find it so impulsively appealing to buy great looking, classic games. A rush of
want goes through me when I lay eyes on some game that I know is considered "rare". I'm sure others here can relate?
Aside from the dull pang of regret that I always feel after spending that much money that quickly, I do find a child-like happiness in looking over and seeing those classic games in my collection. They all have lived up very well also; the quality of them still amazes me. Earthbound especially is still so good and so original.
Anyone else have some tantalizing anecdotes of rare games and money paid?
Also, does anyone else think Arc the Lad collection is rare? I was under the impression that it was. A quick look through eBay seems to support that assumption. I see it going for decently high prices. Is it considered common anywhere, for the rest of you in different parts of the world?
