Not sure if there is a thread solely for the discussion of computer related problems so if there is I'm sorry.

Basically I cannot start my computer. I've ensured the outlets are working and I've changed the cord for one I know works. I get no lights, no beeps, no signs of life in the computer.

I have one of those groovy clear cases and nothing inside appears to be disconnected or burnt and attempting to turn it on didn't lead to any burning smells or smoke.

I'm thinking it may be the power supply or even the switch. What other things might it be and how would I go about checking them?

Married to an IT but I don't trust her to diagnose my computer as much as I'd trust complete interweb strangers haha. (means I've got a multi-meter)

Jumped the gun. Found out the power supply has failed. Cheaper than a motherboard at least. Lock and close sorry for wasting time.
