Fax replacement software?

Is there good software out there (doesn't have to be free) that replaces a fax machine? Like, allows you to send/receive faxes via a fax number in, say, .pdf format, or something similar? Keeps a record of incoming and outgoing faxes? And maybe even allows you to attach a file number to a fax, so you can bill for them?

There is this http://www.faxage.com/ . It isn't really software, more like a web application. I think there is a monthly fee, but you can set it up so all the incoming faxes go to your email. And if you want to send a fax you can just email the fax to them.

It's more network/server oriented, but Zetafax is a good product. I've implemented Zetafax servers as complete fax machine replacements for medical clinics to improve privacy.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

Also, I think I'd probably prefer a solution that still involves a single point of contact for all faxes.

Zetafax can receive a fax on an analog modem or BRI fax card or ISDN card and then save it as PDF either in a specific server location or email it to a specific address. It's kind of nice in that there's never a paper copy sitting in a machine somewhere that a nosy admin can just pick up and read.
