One of my co-workers has a pair of ferrets, and for future reference asked me if I'd ever be able to keep on eye on them while she was on vacation. It's been years since I've dealt with ferrets in any capacity, so I know the basics, but what is the current prevailing wisdom on ferret care? Also, the female is apparently a little aggressive and prone to biting, are there any good methods for trying to butter her up and tone that down?
Will you be watching them at your place or theirs?
Don't leave around anything shiny and basically ignore them imo. They take forever to warm up to someone in my experience. If they come when fed/given treats, give them treats right after you get there to get them curious and do a quick head count.
If it's your place, don't do it.

All the ferrets I've met have been really friendly. Maybe I'm a ferret whisperer or something, but YMMV.
They would be coming to my place, and I assumed SOP for them to live in large wire cages except when you take them out to play, which would be coming with them if I watched them for a while.
