So I currently have a Nvidia 8 series (I think an 8800 GTS? if there is such a thing.. I'll update when I get home if it's really important). I know you can buy a 2xx series card and use it for PhysX with an ATI, but what about with a 8xxx Nvidia? I don't really have any games that I'd need this setup for, but I'm just wondering about the possibilities for maybe upgrading in the near future.
Should be able to do so, as I can't see why not. The HardForum video card section has a great number of threads about such and is a good place to search out further information (or just start a new topic asking about it).

Any card from the Geforce 8 series on up can be used as a dedicated PhysX accelerator. Keep in mind that having a dedicated card for physics isn't strictly necessary since you can choose to run hardware PhysX on a single-card system if you wanted to (performance will take a hit, obviously, since the GPU has to render and solve physics at the same time, but it'll work).
