Freeware scanner software?

I had to reformat my PC recently. I'd lost my install disc for my printer/scanner (an Epson Stylus SX215). I managed to download the relevant drivers but I can't find the scanning software online - Epson doesn't seem to mention it on their site. Are there any alternative programs I could use for scanning?

Many programs have a Scanning option under the file menu that can utilize TWAIN compliant scanners.

Mspaint, for instance, has this feature.

The option is greyed out in Paint, and GIMP doesn't recognise it in the Input dialogue.

Can you scan with the Windows scanner wizard? When I reformatted my other PC the other day, I had to download the Epson printer driver and then a 2nd scanner driver. Did you get both?
