    i just bought it yesterday and i'm already in the city for badge number 4.
    the addiction is back
    however, it can;t seem to connect to my router. anyone else have this problem?
    it's a mac router

    do you have a password on your network?

    if it is a WPA password, the DS won't connect to that; only WEP passwords

    it is for this reason i hate the DS

    does anyone else keep their team really small

    like I catch a lot, but early on I only have like two pokes on my team

    I only add someone if they really impress me, so I can be like halfway through the game before I have six on my lineup

    i rarely have a full 6, i do the plan ahead thing where i look up the next gym leader, find a pokemon that's strong against that type and level it up through trainers and tall grass on the way to the town.
    i keep my starter pokemon cause he's generally higher level, and my pidgeotto... and that's it really

    yeah i've used that method too. i find that one really works well for the first 5 badges or so, then they seem to get stronger/smarter so i plan.

    Honestly I like the challenge of tough leader, beavo

    I keep my brutal team and changing them up to suit the leader just feels like cheating to me and disrespectful to my bruisers

    I've don't have a hm slave in HG

    I've yet to find a reason to learn strength or rock smash

    I think I'll need one when I try to play pearl again

    HG/SS are way more forgiving with HMs than D/P are

    all you need to get around most places is cut and strength
    surf obviously
    fly for convenience

    there are like three places tops to use whirlpool and waterfall
    rock climb is purely post-elite-four stuff
    rock smash is completely unnecessary
