The Mysterious Missing Omeganaut

I just noticed something. Makes me angry. My girlfriend and me attended PAX. We attended the keynote (fantastic speech). We were stuck in some not so good seats at the upper level and the side of the stage so we could not see the screens. They announced the Omeganauts, we thought nothing of it, as there was tons of people and what were the odds that 1 of us 2 would be picked. Not very good. Well, i am sure you know where this is going. My girlfriend, Whitney Sauve, was 1 of the 32 picked. And we had NO idea. We are both quite upset about this. I mean, it was a fantastic weekend. But that could have just made it all the better. Angry angry angry. :(

That is really quite unfortunate! I really hope they improve the main theater next year(location wise) so that it can accommodate more people in better locations. That being said I hope you don't let it get you too down! I'm glad you still had a fantastic time.

Yeah, well, they will be switching convention centers here in Boston next year. So hopefully there will be a better main theater. Oh no. It was still a fantastic weekend. And we have realized that if we had noticed that she was an Omeganaut, we would have gotten into the panel that we couldn't. And thus the drummer from The Protomen would not have mentioned to us the Jamspace show they were about to do, and we would not have seen The Protomen perform "Total Eclipse of the Heart". So yeah. But, still, would have been pretty awesome to experience all that comes with being an Omeganaut. But, we had a great weekend, and this has just become another thing to add onto it :)

That situation really stinks! I was one of the omeganauts and there were five no-shows! Maybe the other four people were in a similar situation as you guys. The guy running the omegathon was pretty surprised that that many people didn't show up. I, myself, was trying to figure out why people who voluntarily submitted their omegathon tickets would not show up...

Well, glad to see you guys had a great time regardless. Take care.

Yes. Yes they did. I noticed this while at the show, and could only marvel at how ridiculous it was.

...But my next immediate thought was "Why are people sitting in seats placed BEHIND the screen?? The theater isn't THAT full."

So yeah... You have my sympathies, but... yeah.
