I'll go to this if someone feels like giving me a ride to and from
a book signing doesn't sound all that 8hourdrivethroughruralmissouri-worthy
Meth Lab Country is nothing to sneeze at. What with all the empty Sudafed packages, chemical fires and ammonia smells.. it's always a great time here in Miss-oor-ah.
I am dragging my wife to the signing. Luckily the Gallery is near the A-B brewery, so she doesn't have to be afraid of the City Folk stealing our car or harassing us for change.
Soooo...gonna be there. I'm excited. Boyfriend and I are driving 4 hours from Truman after we get out of class just to go, and then drive back 4 hours afterward. It's called dedication, yo!
Longtime reader, first time poster. I'll be driving from KC to the book signing, can't wait! I contacted the store it's in and they said they would prefer you to buy the book from them. I already have my copy though
I will be there as well....look for a big guy with a "be nice to me or I will sic my ninja monkeys on you" t-shirt, com introduce yourself...I dont bite...
That was awesome! I have a picture of beer-gut bikini Tycho, but my computer is refusing to recognize my camera. I'll fix it tomorrow and get the picture posted then.
My brother and I rolled in right around 6:40 and were probably a couple of the last to find seating. It was well-packed to standing room only by 7 sharp. Great turnout, great group, lots of fun, the faux-"WELCOME TO PAX!" was effing awesome.
I was able to snap pictures of most of the sketches tonight, though I missed a couple since Mike was pretty quick to wipe the completed works before starting a new one. Forgive the quality, it was an iPhone. Here's the first two requests:

Cheeseburgers and waffles, he said. Saw a bunch of people packing into some old building with a "Police" sign outside (yes!), checked it out, decided to stay. It probably won't be long before this place is flocked by proper Brits.
Yeah, there was a live drawing during the Q & A. Jerry was sort of MC'ing that while Mike took some requests and drew some of the standards. That whole thing took about an hour. There were at least 6 groups of people getting things signed and after all that a sort of free-for-all. I must also commend the majority who managed to make a small, hot room not smell too badly.

Anyone else notice that after they complained about the heat, Mike/Gabe finally started to draw dicks, and out of fear the staff pumped that room full of A/C goodness.
Here are some of the pictures I took. We got there at around 3:30 not knowing what to expect as far as the line goes. Turns out there was none so we took a tour of the brewery because free beer is free beer.
Arriving in St. Louis
Big Jake. One of the worlds larges Clydesdale, supposedly a foot taller than most and 470 pound heavier.
These two pictures make me laugh because that sink is the photo op and the camera delay was enough that I got my friend walking away but the picture with the sign turned out perfect.
Apparently this used to be a public school until the city of St. Louis decided it might not be a good idea to have a school in the middle of a functioning brewery
This is the crowd. About 45 mins before the show. I brought a netbook and two joysticks so we were having people up and playing arcade games. More people watched than played which surprised me a bit.
This is Mike and Jerry setting up. They seemed to have some issue with flipping the screen.
This is the shot I got of the Jumping High 5. For as much crap as Jerry gave me for asking them to do it they really did deliver.
Obligatory me and the dudes shot.
The celebratory after book signing feast.
Also did Jerry draw a heart on anyone else's book? He did in mine but not the other 4 in my group. I kinda wonder if its because I was a bit of a heckler sitting in the front row.

Also, they did a live drawing in St Louis? All we got in NYC was a Q and A and a signing.

It fucking rocked.....
And the nice lady from Left Bank even gave my website a shout out....

I even got a new webcomic listing from someone who was there and heard the shout out...
Nope, I got the landing. Stupid iPhone also ruined the group photo I asked for with them. But I got all the sketches :winky:
