Recently my computer crashed playing tf2. The screen got all distorted and caused a stop error
now whenever I try to run a 3d game, look at the nvidia hw monitor Or do a stress test it crashes with a distorted picture. Using a geforce 8800 gt 512 from evga. Got the latest drivers from nvidia.com
The card is about 3-4years old so it might just be toast. Anyway to make sure? Is it safe to keep using for 2d stuff which seems fine so far. Even running at 1200p.
Did you register your card with evga? if so you probably have a lifetime warrenty on the card and they will send you another one if it is broken. Even if you haven't you can give them a call and they will at least help you figure out if the card is faulty. Every time I call EVGA i get the impression the guys on the phone want me to hang up happy (although the guys that actually ship the cards are not so helpful and they sent me the wrong card multiple times).
