xbox 360 question

My Xbox appears to be red ringing when I open the disc drive. If I insert the disc and power it down then back on it works. Is this the beginning of the end or just a wierd bug? Any suggestions or should I think about buying an arcade edition and moving my hard drive to it and transfer the liscenses?

    Is it the three lights? If so, are you under the three-year warranty? If both answers are yes, just send it in and get a refurb back.

    If no, then moving to an arcade and keeping the hard drive will be your best bet, since it'll be the cheapest option, and you'll get the latest chipset.
