I'm going to have a group of around 10-15 people and we all need a coordinated costume. Suggestions?

Seriously, men and women can all pull it off equally and it's classy.

    Alternatively:

    Mimes

    An army of mimes.

    Theme?
there's always one goes as a leader of a group and the rest as the fodder (Monarch and Henchmen for example). There's also going as Street Fighter characters or a comic-book team.

It's just my personal opinion, but most of the time when I've seen people try to do group costumes in the theme of a comic book team, or characters from a movie, it inevitably sucks because some of the costumes end up being super difficult to do. Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen, comes to mind.

Someone always gets shafted with a super hard costume to do.

I like more general themes. The army of mimes would be really cool, or everyone as zombies, or everyone as like Romans or - whatever.

I saw a group last halloween that all went as 'Film Noir'. So there was a guy dressed like a private investigator, a few girls just dolled up as 'femme fatales', one guy was the 'intrepid reporter', one guy the 'tired police chief', etc. etc.

I guess they're not all gamers or I'd suggest TF2... though that would be a lot of work regardless.

Last Halloween my department at work won the costume contest because we went as a chain gang with our boss as warden and team lead as a guard.

(A few months later for my bosses birthday we dressed up as Scottish warriors. He's Scottish).

Back in college, me and my buddies did a Halloween as the Bear Artificial Insemination Team. All you need is some cheap clothes that you can put the initials on, tear up, splash fake blood on ... etc. Add crutches, bandages, and other indicators of grievous injury at your leisure. Cheap, easy, and funny, but your appropriateness may vary.

Just one person dress like steven seagal and everyone else dress like ninjas.

Or an army of cardboard robots trying to dominate the world.

A (somewhat smaller) group of people I knew once went to a Halloween party dressed as Team Zissou.

    The costumes were pretty cheap.

Or, thirteen of you could dress up as important historical figures, and two of you could dress up as Bill and Ted.

I've always thought it'd be cool to all go dressed as skeletons ala the Cobra Kai gang from Karate Kid. Additionally, one person could dress up as a shower and another as Mr Miyagi, then re-enact the awesome fence scene.

Huh? Isn't dr manhattan super easy? Just 1. Take off all your clothes 2. Shave everything 3. Cover yourself in Blue body paint.

I mean sure, it takes a bit of dedication to the role but it's not exactly difficult or expensive to source the materials.

Plus if it gets chilly just throw on some black slacks and a black sweater and bam, now you're a member of the blue man group.

Members of Team Rocket. (remember that generic team rockets wear black with red insignia)

Characters from Battlestar Galactica. (there certainly were enough of them)

Characters from Venture Bros. (villains especially)

half T half CT from Counter Strike.

The most ridiculous hipster clothing you can scrounge out of a Value Village.

Construction workers. (bonus points for group cat calling)

    50s guys/gals.

The 12 Chinese zodiac animals - they can run around asking people's year.

15 personalities of GLaDOS - just a simple blue ball, but each one is extremely happy, sad, angry, etc.

Enzio/Altair plus 13 beggers/crazies/guards - he/she can bump them, run from them, etc.

If you're into comics you can go as the Green Lantern Corps. Everyone's costume could be different, they just need to be green, black and white with the green lantern symbol.

A few years ago my friends dressed up as Tetris blocks. You just need about two hours and a lot of moving boxes. I'm pretty sure I've seen other people do this on the interweb, so just Google search it.

    How about...

The cast of any Film Noir movie, wear only black, grey, white and possibly red. Detectives, crooked cops, hookers with hearts of gold...

The crew of One Piece if you're into manga and convince your gang. The costumes are really cool, but hardly expensive to recreate.

Black OPs team, secret agents, spies...

    The Spanish Inquistion!

and in that vein why not all be Catholic priests, monks and nuns? Wait no, thats for a different convention.

All the Batman villians would be amazing

Also from comics, everyone be Multiply Man

Everyone be Dracula and fight about it

    No? What about Mongols!

On the subject of death and daemons disappearing: arrows sure are effective in Lyra's universe. Seems like if you get shot once, you're dead - no lingering deaths with your daemon huddling pitifully in your arms, just *thunk* *argh* *whoosh*. A battlefield full of the dying would just be so much more depressing when you add in wailing gerbils and dogs.

Might have to split into two teams, but RED and BLU Team Fortress 2 characters might be an option like DiscoZombie mentioned.

Aside from that...any common shows that are watched among the whole group?

The ascent of man, I believe it's called. here's a pic. I could be wrong about the name.

I'm sure you can easily pad it out for 4-9 more people. Include 3-4 humans.

Left 4 dead? 4-8 of you can be survivors, pretty good mix of body type, gender, and race there, and I doubt people will mind if you mix the two groups together. The rest can be zombies, and if they want to put extra work in/think they can pull it off, special infected.

Many years ago a group of friends and I dressed as post apocalyptic gang we made up. The catch was it was in the style of The Warriors, so we needed a ridiculous theme. We chose to be the Lab Ratz, dressed up in torn lab coats, accesorized, made our own gang symbols, and then decended on a party. It was good fun, and worth hearing people say things like "Damn, there goes another lab rat, those guys are everywhere"
