downhill ski damage

So i just recently got a slightly used pair of atomic beta 5 skis from my little brother.

He was being a dick with them, and so i traded him a pair or rock skiis for them because he was beating the shit out of them for no reason. Everything was repairable except for one thing, and I am curious if it can be fixed.

He broke the edge of the ski. The metal edge just in the position of the heel on one side is actually severed. Now the edge itself is barely out of line (bowed just a little out), but the edge itself is severed. Is there any way that you guys know of that this is repairable? They are rad and expensive skiis that I would hate to throw away just because my brother is a tool.

Take it in to your local ski shop and ask them.

Also, if we do have any ski experts here, they probably would be able to answer you more accurately if you could post a picture.

I'd recommend taking them in as well. Since they're shaped, part will depend on where that break is at (in regard to the camber curve).

I'm not sure if they'll be able to rejoin the edge, but you want to make sure they're straightened, aligned, filed/sharpened. They'll probably drop an epoxy and/or some PTex in behind it to keep it sealed up and in place. You might want to consider swapping your bindings (if necessary). You're not going to want to keep that broken edge on your inside or you're going to keep on re-damaging it (especially on ice/hardpack).

    Good luck!
