Best Way to Remove Labels from Glass Coffee Syrup Bottles?
We're trying to remove the labels from glass coffee syrup bottles. The paper comes right off with water, but the glue sticks like...the name suggests. Right now we're scraping it off with razors, but that's slooooooooow. Suggestions?

1. Put it in boiling water, and
2. Try using varsol....although not at the same time as the boiling water.
3 Whip off sticky remains on neighbors beaver.
4. Profit
Mineral oil and I've also heard that gasoline could be used to remove glue (though I wouldn't recommend it unless it was the only thing you had access to)

Try soaking it in hot, soapy water until soft, then rubbing it with a rough cloth soaked in orange juice and/or rubbing alcohol. I like the WD-40 idea too, that stuff's magic.

Lighter fluid works well, it also removes adhesive from anything else.
Lighter fluid evaporates away, as well, so it's safe to use on a number of things (like most books). For any porous material, test it on an unseen bit first, as it can stain things.
Thanks for the advice. Goo gone looks like it would be a winner. I totally forgot about WD-40! Shoulda remembered that one, since we have a ton of it around the house.
What we eventually ended up doing was using non-acetone nail polish remover. It worked well enough.

2) Saturate the glue and let it penetrate for a few minutes.
3) Wipe off glue with neighbor's cat.
Seriously, Goo-Gone is awesome for removing stickers and labels, especially off glass since it's non-porous.

For glass, it's king.
