I have a PS3 and a Wii and I feel absolutely terrible right now. My fiancé just looked at me and said "I want to play something but I'm bored with all my games right now." She loves Dynasty Warriors and adores Samurai Warriors. She currently has DW6, DW6E, and DW Gundam 2. She really didn't like Strike Force and we both enjoy games we can play together (split screen) however that's really a secondary concern. She's taken to playing SW2EL on her old PS2 but she really would like something on the PS3 or Wii.
Her basic criteria are:
1.) Fast paced action that she can pick-up and play.
2.) Button mashing is fun
3.) Has female characters
I will gladly buy her any game she wants, she hasn't played in over a month out of sheer boredom

How does she feel about arcadey racing games like Motorstorm and burnout?
(motorstorm 1 and burnout are single player, Motorstorm two has split screen)
edit: That said, burnout is great for the "Pass the controller back and forth" and laugh as crazy things happen, atmosphere.

All of those are outstanding ideas! Thank you sir! I'll buy her Motorstorm Two in the morning. I mentioned Burnout and she simply asked "crash breaker?" As I remember paradise eliminated that mode for a more free flowing system. All the same I'll consider that as well.
Would smash brothers fit into that category? I know thats why I like it, I can just play it for a bit, then put it down and not worry about it. Though you do have to do all that story mode bullshit to unlock everyone (or DL a completed save on the interenet like I do for almost all fighting games .. fuck unlocking shit I just want to punch mans with other mans).
Other than that I don't really know of anything to fit her criteria on the Wii, I often find myself sad that I chose to get the Wii over say the 360 or PS3.

Whether they find a life there or not, I think Jupiter should be called an enemy planet.

I can't believe I forgot about smash brothers! :P
OK, that gives me at least 1 for each system. That being said please keep 'em coming.
if she hasn't played uncharted and uncharted 2 your ps3 is a wasted shell of a thing
I played Uncharted 2 first. Just beat it the other day. I have Uncharted on it's way from Goozex as we speak. I don't think I've enjoyed a game as much as Among Thieves in years.

I am debating getting one for Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain alone!

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 is fast-paced, button-mashtastic, and has female characters.
Although not really what you want offered up, my girlfriend and I have tons of fun with Wii Sports Resort and the Boom Blox games. It's not often I can get her to trash talk, but the wii brings out the best (Worst?) in her. haha.
Burnout Paradise does have a crash mode. In any crash, or even before you hit something, you hit some buttons and it goes into a continuous crash mode to hit everything you can and get combos. It's pretty fun and a way to pass the controller back and forth. I don't think it was in the game at launch, but it's there now.
Wow thanks for all the responses. I'm going to go over all of the recommendations and get her opinion before buying too many things at once. Thank you all.

<@zerzhul> you win at twdt
Do you have Valkyria Chronicles?
VC is PS3's Ocarina of Time. The game people will remember the console for long after the shelves have been restocked.
