If I don't get to regular PAX, either I'm really really stupid or something absolutely terrible has happened and somebody needs to call the police or something.

sigh. that was pretty good. sad i missed the first pax east, but glad I didn't have to deal with the first pax east.
i'm pretty sure I'll be at next year's pax east.
omegathon was a tag team relay between two teams of two
P1 - Super Mario Bros: get 50 coins
tag off to
P2 - Rad racer: ?min no crash
tag off to
P1 - Tetris: get ? lines
team up for
P1 + P2: Contra (2?): Beat Lvl ? Boss
there was a drama thread about it in the PAX forum as usual the consoles crashed. now get 8 of those crashing consoles and oh boy
That was a real good episode, 2PP guys. Also you had a good PATV panel.
I had a couple of days where I was somehow convinced that any moment, PAX would be back and I think I'm just now realizing that it won't be for quite a while.
I did, but not my face. 4:12 you can see a group of people including a girl somewhat dressed as a scout playing magic. I am seated beside them and you see my backpack and part of my elbow and knee. And I am dead serious about this.
7:40 in during the slideshow of pictures, I am seated beside the left side microphone line in my same tan shirt. Still no face. But I don't need to be famous.

Final attendance was 52,900. Not quite what they had thought, but close
And the Omegathon final was get 50 coins in Super Mario Bros, 1500 points in Rad Racer, 10 lines in tetris, and beat the first boss in Contra
EDIT: God that episode was awesome and made me miss PAX all that much more.
I need to make it to one of these, but it's a pretty decent trip, and I don't know if I could convince any of my friends to make it with me. Maybe next year..
I need to get one of my friends to tag along to PAX East next year. I went in 2006 solo, and it was okay, but I was too shy/uptight at the time to let loose and enjoy myself.

You went to PAX East in 2006? You, sir, are a visionary.
Just the small bit of Wil Wheaton's speech made me want to punch him in the face.
Seriously.
"We are all US GAMERS."
Edit: Okay, I actually think he's an alright guy. I thought he was a good addition to the D&D podcasts back in the day. He does get a little too into the "geek culture" self-identification thing for my tastes, though.

Ya, it even comes through in the D&D podcasts a bit... you just get that awkward "trying too hard" sense.

Wait, did they remove Erika's redesign for the videos or something?

I agree, but for me it's more of a "holy shit, this kid is/was a not just a nerd, but quite a dork." I like his stuff though, his PAX07 speech was fantastic. While I guess identifying with and reassuring the "so nerdy and socially awkward they're almost handicapped" works, I can't imagine going to a convention and sitting down for hours at a time just to play D&D - but I guess everyone has their own reasons for going to PAX.
Anyway, Wheaton's an okay guy in my book, he just needs to turn it down to 10 sometimes.

Did they have to change the games manually or were there a bunch of consoles set up right in a row?
my thoughts as well
oh my god i actually did make it in.
i was holding on to some vain hope that they wouldn't shove my tired crying mug into the episode.
should have known better.
stupid mike and his hug.
thank you for making me cry again 2PP! god i can't wait for next year.
((i'm just kidding. hug was awesome. ))
