Ah, Mirror's Edge, first game in its own genre and a gem at that.
Graphics are gorgeos, story is nice, gameplay is fun but can be annoying at times.

Short but fun as heck,

This was a neat game. It had it's flaws, but for what it was (a first person platformer, essentially), it did very well.

I wish it had done a lot better at retail so we'd see a Mirror's Edge 2 sometime in the future, maybe with some improvements to the combat and a tighter storyline. The former wasn't a big deal to me, since I took pride in dodging enemies when I could and disarming or otherwise subduing them when I couldn't. I would have liked to see the story fleshed out a bit more, though.

Plus, it's the only game I can think of that has you hug someone in first person. That's pretty original.

If the engine of Mirror's Edge had a baby with the environment and story of Deus Ex...

Not quite. They're dangerous and appear at moments to give you the right sense of urgency.

It's just that the guns are kind of clunky. The best part of the game is either running from squads of riot cops and pulling off outrageous maneuvers to avoid getting shot, or dashing from cover to cover to Judo up cops and security guards.

Dude you totally can flip like Celeste does.

Press "turn" mid air, then hold back ("S").

Yeah, Mirror's Edge 2 is a nice dream.
The CEO liked the first one and thought it deserved a sequel.
Some artists would like to be working on it, too.

It's not 100% confirmed, but it seems reallllly likely.

    Well that's nice.

Half-Life 2 (or one of the episodes) had Alyx hug you in the beginning.

I loved that game, especially since I got it for $10 new. It was short but I played it twice, and everyone I've showed it to loved it. Probably one of the best concepts I've heard of in the past few years. But why would the show off the free running aspects of the game and then make a third of it take place in cramped boiler rooms? That's the only thing I didn't like, but still great overall. Recently bought the DLC as well.

They certainly added tension, but I would have been quite content to have some sort of "Free Run" mode where the city is your oyster to tear through and explore.

Yeah, hopefully if there is a part 2, it will be more open.
