Another Century's Episode is the collaboration of Banpresto, best known for their Super Robot Wars franchise, and From Software, the makers behind the Armored Core series. The game is a fast-paced action title featuring characters, mecha and story elements from famous Japanese giant robots. It's like if Super Robot Wars played like Zone of the Enders.
ACE:R is the 4th game in the series and making the leap to the PS3.
Currently announced series are Super Dimension Century Orguss, Mobile Suit Z Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack, Crossbone Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, Overman King Gainer, Full Metal Panic, Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, Genesis of Aquarion, Macross Zero and Macross F.

I remember seeing a thread on the previous games before and thought it looked cool, but they were only released in Japan. What are the chances of this ever making it Stateside?

Yeah right there is no chance that G Gundam won't be in. It is so ungodly popular and has been in every single ACE game ever. It's practically guaranteed.
As for english language don't expect it but really these games aren't complex or word heavy like SRW. You can play it and pretty much understand everything just fine with out speaking the language. I can tell you that like a day after it comes out there will be a menu guide out and you won't need more then a quick look over it to play it just fine.

That being said, I doubt this will ever see a release in North America, and my Japanese probably would not be enough to overcome the inconvenience for me personally (I'm one of those people who really likes knowing what they're doing in games).
Maybe it'll be brought over to Taiwan, and I can import one of those copies. Hmmmmm.
Most of these shows are licensed by different companies outside of japan so it won't happen.

It's kind of ironic. Macross Zero couldn't even get a US release, after all.
I highly doubt it, none of the SRWs or the previous ACEs were ever released in Taiwan.
If it doesn't come outside Japan now we can hope it'll receive good scores and high sales and maybe be sold outside of Japan at a later date.

Yeah, I doubt it. Despite the popularity if video games, the PS3 is not as huge in Taiwan as you might expect.
I blame Korean MMOs and the ease of obtaining hacked XBOX360s :P
I'd blame the cost of a PS3 in Taiwan. And that gaming PCs are already fairly popular, dropping the demand for PS3s substantially. :P
I'm perfectly fine with FMP, Destiny, Code Geass, King Gainer and Zeta anyway.
SEED basically took WING out behind the woodshed in popularity. It arguably does the same thing but had much higher ratings.
Also it's been awhile but didn't Wing have a run in the Gundam Musou games?
It did, I know for sure it was in the first but I haven't played the second.

Code Geass has more than enough unintentional humor and hilariously inappropriate scenarios to make up for G Gundam in its natural form. I can see that transferring over to the game.
Only two for G Gundam, but, they're still enough. Kyoji also shows up, non-playable. Not saying having the rest of the main characters playable wouldn't be awesome. Some pretty obscure characters show up in other Gundam/ACE games.
