Hi all, me and a good friend are deploying soon to Afghanistan (we are both in the USAF) we will have lots of time on our hands, and we both love PC games. Our last deployment we played Titan Quest a ton. We have bought Dungeon Seige 1 and 2 (and the expantions) and the Icewind Dale games. Basicly we will have about 250+ hours to kill in the desert, and we both have pretty good new gaming laptops. Anything else anyone can recommend that can eat the hours away?
Other things to note: No or very little internet access, so we are trying to avoid games that require internet to activate incase we have to do a re-install down there.
Thanks in advance!

I believe Neverwinter Nights 2 would fit the bill, if you're into D&D. Pretty sure Borderlands works on a LAN in offline mode, and if you both grab it, and all of the expansions, that would easily kill 250+ hours.
Good luck in the sandbox!
Also... if you both picked up a PSP and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, that would murder 250+ hours and your deployment a the same time :P I'm just sayin...

Nearly everything D&D since BG1. Diablo 1 and 2, if you haven't played those yet. Sacred 2, although I can't really comment on it.
Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 both want you to login to do multiplayer but I gather if there is no net connection you still play with any login name. Just use the same one each time as it creates a directory with that name to store characters. Hordes of Underdark expansion for NWN1 isn't multiplayer without some tweaks/mods. There is a TON of user created content for both nwn1/2 on http://nwvault.ign.com/ you can get ahead of time but it can get overwhelming with all the mods/haks and stuff needed. I mean oh god, the PRC pack for NWN1 adds 126 classes, 60 races and a crapload of skills/spells.
This might be a silly suggestion, but I've enjoyed some of the RPG custom maps for Warcraft 3. You can fit a surprising amount of gameplay in a single map.
Spellforce 1 and 2+expansions are sort of rpg/rts hybrids that have a coop campaign of sorts. You create a character and go through a list of maps for designated levels. Some are you just controlling your hero and some you're supposed to build a base and other units, though in the campaign like that I beat with just my heroes anyway. I don't think there's much story but there is a quest hub map that sends you to the others. I've never done them multiplayer so I can't say how entertaining it is(nobody I know has the games!).
Spellforce 1 Platinum is currently on sale for $5 on gog.com, comes with no copy protection, drm, or activation of any kind. Possible CD key needed for multiplayer they'd give you though, so keep that handy. *Looked it up, you have to request a key for internet play. Doesn't say about LAN
Sacred1/2 are Diablolike games but I have no idea how their multiplayer works, someone might though. The second one is pretty recent so might have something godawful required to activate.
Sacred 1 Gold is also currently on sale for $5 on gog.com, comes with no copy protection, drm, or activation of any kind. Again with the CD key warning, just to have handy incase you need to reinstall and can't get your code from site. *Looked it up, you have to request a key for internet play. Doesn't say about LAN
Two Worlds is a multiplayer RPG, but it generally got not great reviews and I have no idea about the multiplayer functionality.
Older stuffs
Summoner: I had some fun multiplayer with a friend, virtually no story and might not even run these days. Also no idea where one would buy it.
Baldur's Gate 1/2: Like the Icewind Dale games, I believe they're fully multiplayer all the way through.
I've recently been playing Din's curse (released not long ago), it's pretty sweet.
Huge replayability thanks to just about everything being random.
New game = randomly generated city with random depth dungeon, and a stack of well.. random stuff to do.
8 or so classes with 3 skill trees, and you can create a hybrid picking any two skill trees from the whole lot.
So long as you can stomach the nasty graphics, I suggest giving the demo a few tries.
Best hacknslash coops since diablo for me. Just make sure your friend can handle those graphics hahah, alot of people turn blue when they see it.
Thanks for all the great ideas! Don't really like the small screen on the PSP, and it doesnt like well lit areas. I prefer the DS for portable gaming...got baulders gate 1 and 2 on order now, i totally forgot about the Warcraft custom maps...tower defence should be lots of fun downrange. Along with borderlands, dungeon siege 1 and 2 and the icewind dale games, I think we are set!
We have both played through NWN1 and 2 so we arnt really interested in those. FYI, you dont have to have internet access to play either of them.
What game would you compare the graphics of Din's Curse to? First I've heard of this game, and we both love hack'n'slashes.

Again, thanks a ton!
Neverwinter 1, I suppose.
Perhaps worse due to the mediocre tilesets, solid gameplay though.
Just boot up the 100mb demo from the makers website, I was really skeptical after watching a youtube.. but yeah, game didnt disappoint me really. I saved about 3 cities capped at the demo limit without getting too bored; I figured the game can't be that bad if I still want to play after that with limited character progression on the demo.
I've done a few 6 hr marathons on it now.. just wish it had some online playerbase.

Sorry, first time poster. I read the rules, didn't see anything about that. My appologies!
Mound and Blade is single player, so that won't work sadly, I picked it up anyways though, looks like an interesting game!
Mount & Blade Warband is another game from the same guys, and has multiplayer (as well as other improvements) on top of the normal M&B.
