Looking at that other thread reminded me of why I almost always rent non-multiplayer games. So many are so bad, but I can't feel totally ripped off because I usually get them for free and since I couldn't possibly care less about achievements I have no problem beating a game in a week or so and returning it forever.
On the other hand, since I don't actually buy a lot of games and I used to regularly trade in the ones that I had, I'm sometimes stuck with sudden urges to play games that are out of print and impossible to find. I've spent entire weekends running around downtown trying to find another game shop that might have the game I want, but knowing it's not going to happen.
So this thread is for games that you wish you hadn't gotten rid of, either because hindsight is 20/20, or it's just really hard to find now and you want to play it but you can't.
Top of my list would be Onimusha Blade Warriors. I actually bought this twice and sold it twice, and each time I regretted selling it a few months later. The single player is meh, but the multiplayer is tons of fun. I had more fun with it than Smash Bros. and have been annoyed that Capcom never made a sequel with a few more noteworthy characters to attract some attention. Very fine PS2 party fighter.
Second would be Power Stone, because now I can't find it ANYWHERE, and there are still Dreamcasts around. I'd love to have Power Stone side tourneys at our main tourneys, but all we can muster is Power Stone 2, which just isn't the same.
King of Fighters 2000/2001. There were a few KOF double packs for the PS2 that I bought. Now, 2k and 2k1 are not the best years, but they were important for having a few characters that were quickly disappeared from the series. And I'm one of the few people that actually kind of liked 2k1. The reason I eventually sold it (well, returned it) was that the 2k1 disc was all kinds of fucked up. I even went and got it repaired at a disk repairing place. I really, really wanted to keep them, and it was a lame catch-22 with the return policy. I could bring them back for being defective, but they were the only copies in the city so it's not like they were going to replace them for me. Eventually I just decided that 2k2 would have to make up for them both and brought them back. But I still wish I had them. Yuri raging demon ftw.
So what about it.

I miss it.
System Shock 2
My entire SNES system (DietarySupplement +1)
Diablo 2, because I bought it back a year later at twice the price... then sold it again for pennies on the dollar.
Bought that game based on screenshots alone on the back of the box (I'm a sucker for anything that has a sword strapped to its back) and had the most immersive gameplay at the time. Loved the hell out of it.
But I was a broke kid and EBGames still did pc game trade in so I just gave it away for some crappy price I bet.
edit: Because I could have sold it now for way more. Way way more.
This, except for a Saturn and all it's 2D fighter goodness. Not that I regret the Saturn, but being poor and hocking the SNES + games(FF3 and Chrono Trigger). Still stings today.

Also because it turns them into poll threads.
Drinking that koolaid was one of my biggest regrets.
I still had fun with some games for the N64 for sure, but none of it ever compared to anything on the SNES and even if I were going to sell the SNES to buy something it should have been a Playstation. But growing up on Nintendo I just didn't believe it was a worthwhile system...
However since then I just don't sell games. I will not buy a game if I'm not 100% sure it's a game I'm going to play the hell out of and keep forever.
Origin: Galedrid - Nintendo: Galedrid/3222-6858-1045
Blizzard: Galedrid#1367 - FFXIV: Galedrid Kingshand
Shadow of the Colossus, ICO (both the original cardboard boxes), ZotE2, Phantom Brave, BoF: Dragon Quarter, Dark Cloud 2 were all in there with a bunch of less rare games too. Can still find them but they are a lot more expensive now.
