So, is everyone assuming that 4 player co-op is local? Cause... I don't know. Could the 360 handle four seperate screens running this shit? The scale-down would be massive.
Who the hell plays local co-op anymore? If there are four people in your house you've got better things to do than stare at the tiny 3x3'' quadrant that is your character and shoot at shit you can barely see.
Some people have big TV's.
I do too, but local co-op is still a pretty dumb idea. Not when there's things like Rock Band, sports, and movies which are better uses of a giant tv.
Different people have different interests. More at 11.
Seriously though, you're serious in your opinion that four people sitting in a room jamming on plastic instruments is fucking rad, but four people sitting in a room playing ANY OTHER VIDEO GAME is "a pretty dumb idea"?
You're a silly goose.
For the record, I also have Rock Band, and whenever I have a bunch of folks over, it's one of the last things people want to do.

Really? When my friends come over and we are drinking and smoking, Rock Band is one of the first things everyone screams about playing. Which is a bitch, because I keep all the instruments like two rooms away, and I have to drag them all out to the living room, plug them all in, make sure the guitars batteries are working, blarg.
I don't even own Rock Band (just not willing to spend that much money or that much space), and I still have a few co-op games, or at least four-player games (specifically, Dead or Alive 4, seeing how Namco won't get off their asses despite already implementing larger teams).

Every weekend for like 2 years me and a bunch of friends would get together and play rock band. It never got old. But somehow 3 out of 4 guitars became broken, and 2 drum kits were broken. All that is left are 2 working mics. So with no rock band we played Smash bros, the first one, for a few months, until that got stale.
And no we're out of good co-op games and it sucks.
Wait, Anya was the female gear in the trailer? What is she doing in the thick of it? I thought she was our mission control? Who will give us exposition and tell us what to do now?:P
Also, mech suits are awesome, but they will be significantly less awesome if they are not equipped with a Gatling gun on one arm, and a chainsaw on the other.

Well, given that the COG seem to have dissolved; there probably won't be anything resembling Control anymore. Given that Anya is a trained soldier, she's more valuable on the frontlines now.

I was under the impression that her talents were purely technical and logistical, but if she can rev up a chainsaw bayonet and slaughter Locust with the best of them, then that's cool.

She went through the same basic training as every other Gear. Plus she's had like 18 months to get a bunch of frontline experience.

Reaver ride, Brumak ride, the whole of the first act of Gears 1, Night time level in Gears 1, teh awesomness of Skorge and Brumak fight (not the actually fighting just how awesome it was), being swallowed and fighing inside a mother-fuckin' giant worm
a giant...
WOOOOOORRRMMM
I always felt that they left out a "Fucking" that should go between "giant" and "WOOOOOOOOOORRMM!" in that scene.
It seems that there's a large amount of holy shit/that's not possible/you're fucking kidding me going on, but they only convey the first two parts with the dialog.

I'm expecting a lot of interesting banter between her and the rest of delta squad, given the fact that she was generally the one telling them what to do, and sending them into the lion's den.

Yes, yes it does. That's awesome.
Also, something I just noticed with that trailer: Did you notice that all the Locus turned around and started fighting the tentacle monsters as well? They stopped shooting at Delta.

As soon as I saw the Locust were fighting something else in Gears 2 I knew that was going to be a Locust + Human team-up against the new enemy.

Especially since it's all but been confirmed that Locus are just mutated humans. The whole "greater threat" thing kicks in.

God I hope not, I could believe it with the Covenant in Halo, but the Locust don't seem like the team up sort, even in the face of a common enemy and to me it would be quite stupid if they did team up with the Humans.

The question on my mind about this all is, will there be more Cole Train rapping?

I'm still not sure about that. If the Locust are mutated humans, then who built the giant civilization underground? And where did they get all those humans from? (They had a big enough army to wipe out all of the humans, and this is before the humans even knew they existed. Certainly SOMEONE would have noticed billions of humans going missing.)
There's something more going on there.

Yes, I believe it's called "Giant gaping plotholes". They've been there a while because they've implied the Locust were made from humans in Gears of War 2 (The laboratory level).

Plus, they were trying to turn Dom's wife in to a Locus. Remember the metal chambers they were holding humans in, piping in some kind of poison gas? It was turning them in to Locus.

Wait really? Now that I didn't know. Where was that said or written, because I definitely missed that part.

It was implied. If they wanted to just kill the humans, they could have just killed them....but they weren't. They were trapping them in those chambers, and pumping it full of some strange gas. Did you see Dom's wife when she came out? She was like half way between human and Locus.

I don't really know about that, but to be honest it's crazy enough that it is probably true or at least has a good chance of being true.

Can you think of a better explanation as to why they would put all the humans in those chambers, rather than just killing them? Either they were trying to turn them in to Locus, or they were using them as some kind of living experiment.
Tai I could have seen as being on his way to becoming a Locust; but I think Maria was going to be turned into a Wretch. (If the human -> locust thing is true, and not a situation where we don't have all the facts.) Tai just had the shit tortured out of him. Maria was lobotomized and emaciated; I don't see how that would make her into an adequate drone (Or more accurately, a berserker, as drones are all male and Beserkers are the female of the species).
Hmm, I wonder how Boomers get to be so huge if they're mutated humans.
Anywho, like I said, I don't doubt that something weird and Locust related was going on at New Hope, but I don't think I'm ready to say without a doubt that every Locust drone was a former human.
Also, something I just noticed with that trailer: Did you notice that all the Locus turned around and started fighting the tentacle monsters as well? They stopped shooting at Delta.
I'm thinking that boiled down to "Oh crap, bigger problem".
think of it this way: the Locust considered wiping out all of humanity, fleeing to the surface and flooding their former home to be a better solution than defeating the Lambent. I imagine in they very least they have a "we can kill the humans later.. if we survive this."
Apparently the Pendulum Lancer was put in to fill a niche in the short-range weapon catagories. It's stronger than the normal lancer, but is much more inaccurate.
All I'm hoping for is that the explanation for the Locust and how they are connected to the humans is more nuanced than "No Marcus, you are the Locusts!"

fun fact: Johnny cash covered that song.
Trent reznor wrote the original.
Yeah, I know it seems like it would be the other way around.
