Ok, so a while back when I got this player my computer was too crappy to use it so I transferred the files to my moms laptop and then to the player. After that (which was too much of a hassle) I just kinda forgot about it. Fast forward a couple years to now and Ive got a computer that can use it so Im trying to get my music on there. Problem is, the thing is full already but I can't figure out how to delete the files on there. I dont see an option to delete on the player, and all the options to delete files through either Rhapsody or Windows Media Player only see one song (which doesnt make much sense to me). The music is on there since Ive been listenin to it for a few days. I saw that WMP has a "format" option but its greyed out for the player.
Go to the in-player options and change the USB mode. When you plug it in again, your computer should treat it as a usb-drive instead of a media player. You'll be able to go directly into the music folder and delete the files.
I have a Sansa E280, so I'm assuming it's more or less the same thing. There isn't any way to delete the files while using the player, who knows why. Apparently more recently manufactured models do let you delete the files. I highly recommend installing Rockbox on the player, it adds a lot of features and lets you delete files using just the device.
