So this movie was pretty kick ass. Based on a comic I have never read or heard of till recently. Awesome characters and very cool soundtrack going along with some bad ass action scenes.
Saw the first showing with a good crowd and everyone seemed to love it. The film went wacky for 2min but some dude went off to tattle and the audience got all free tickets out of it. Pretty kick ass.
Really good flick and for some reason made me feel good too. Gonna go buy me a wetsuit.

There was some of that wish-fulfillment that was in Wanted as well, but the whole plot that got watered-down into some stupid "loom... of fate!" setpiece was the thing that really pissed me off.
Granted, I haven't actually read this one, but the plot felt a little less pants on head stupid than Wanted's. Even though it's obviously been trimmed way down, they just couldn't cram that much secondary character development into the amount of stuff that happens throughout the movie.
another mark miller over-the-top "satire" that everyone on the internet is excited for and then hates in a month
But wanted was horrible in basically every way. People were excited for it? I mean isn't the whole property nothing more than a big fuck you to everybody from the creator because he threw whatever together to get money?
plus it looks like the kid who plays kickass is less of a fucking chump than the lead guy in wanted

I got that thing from the OP about just feeling... good walking out of the theater. I dunno, I'm kind of riding the high of the movie. Man, it was great.
if you want to see that you should probably just rent the original instead

man i try not to really think about wanted
all i remember basically was that everyone hated it afterwards and blamed it, mostly, on mark millar's dumb comic
also ebert is rad and i take no truck with the fact that he finds the concept of an 11-year-old girl slaughtering dozens of dudes in a "satire" of superheroes as both out of place and slightly unsettling

I was thinking this throughout the entire second half.
also the way Big Daddy did his inflections fucking slayed me

nah
I wanted more big daddy scenes. he was pretty fucking badass

pretty sure this is going for a different tone than wanted did
The whole warehouse sequence, after we've been watching Kick Ass kind of stumble his way through his fight scenes, just felt so right
Dunno why Snowbeat is using quotation marks here, since this film is obviously satirizing superheroes and is deliberately being comical about it.
Whereas Wanted was attempting to be more serious-yet-badass and became kind of an unintentional joke in the process.
(it's really a surprise if you haven't seen him doing this in trailers, I'd say it's actually a spoiler)

That's the story I heard anyway.
I've been hearing this is actually good
bad.
Some of the stuff he's going on about is just. I dunno. Has he lost it?
Snowbeat likes to rain on internet parades
Didn't he lose it when Siskel died?
Never trust a cyborg.
they were all dumb people, right?
Yeah along with his lower jaw
Too soon?
"ebert gave this movie one star, he must be a fuckin' loon"
y'all are idiots!
Except mine was more based off of the fact that he's been a bit off for a couple of years now rather than one movie review
did you read his review?
It's just way out of touch and mostly ranting.
Well, have you read his review? The whole thing is basically about how he's offended by the concept of Hit-Girl.
Can't wait to see this on the weekend. Been hearing about it for a year now.
I made a TD for iphone and windows phone!
Which one?

seen it twice already and might even watch it again
e: just read Ebert's review
wow
dude missed the point really, really heavily
I respect Ebert, but that was not a good review
dude spoiled key aspects of the ending!
the movie wanted wasn't even anything like the comic though
(they are both still bad)
