Last year at PAX I saw the Peregrine glove and thought it was pretty neat. When they started offering pre-orders in December I couldn't resist. I love gadgets. Unfortunately, in January they sent out an email saying they had manufacturing difficulties and wouldn't be able to ship for another couple of months. Then at the beginning of this month they sent another email saying that they were trying to get all their preorders shipped by the middle of April. So it's the middle of April and I don't have my glove or even an email saying it's shipped. Calling the company has not helped. All they tell me is that I will get my product. They can "promise you that!" but can't say when. I'm afraid I've become a bit worried.
If anyone has bought and received one of these gloves, I would appreciate so much hearing about it! Then I could mark these delays down to it being a new and experimental product and stop wondering if I purchased a vapor-gadget.
I'd be patient. It's April 16th, after all. As an operations manager at a manufacturing company, we back-order people all the time due to manufacturing glitches - wouldnt you know that massproduction cuases mass headaches and is asking people that arent rocket scientists to be rocket scientists? - best bet is to place a call every few days just to follow up, but i doubt they've screwed you over.

Oh geeze. I received mine in the initial batch so I got it much earlier this month. Since then I've been on the phone with support a few times. Basically the initial batch's firmware is crippled and will absolutely refuse to work in Windows Vista or 7. There's a way to fix it, I've been informed, or they will send out a new pod with the new firmware. But all in all since I'm sure most people have started moving away from XP it is something you would think they might have tested. Mine still isn't working but hopefully I'll fix that today. Otherwise the software looks as you'd expect, and the glove honestly feels like it should work. I'll post back when I get it working properly, of course. And their customer support has been pretty good, I think it might even just be a "first batch" issue so yours might not exhibit the same problem.
So I have it working now, the firmware upgrade fixed the issue, however I managed to screw up my gaming pc in the process so I have yet to really be able to test it out. Luckily it looks like there's some hope. I have calibrated it and it seems to respond well.
