How do you sell an iPhone 3G?

Probably something that's been covered before, but I didn't see it in the first handful of pages.

Anyway, this is probably going to come up a lot as Apple gets closer to unveiling their next phone, and my account will qualify me for a new subsidized phone in July - how convenient. Googling "how to sell a 3G iphone" didn't yield anything that helpful, because what I'm looking for is a step-by-step tutorial for prepping a 3G for secondhand sale. Has anyone had any luck with this?

Note: my iPhone has the most recent version of the OS, which I'm pretty sure disabled jailbreaking and unlocking, as I haven't been able to do it since I upgraded to it. That is to say, there are no versions of the OS available that can be plugged into Pwnage to do it (that I've found). Is selling an iPhone secondhand even possible anymore?

Wipe the phone. Pull out your SIM. Voila.

I've never done it but my friend has had great, quick success using Craigslist to sell his rather than go through an ebay auction.

The problem with the article you linked to is it's really old - the process of selling seems to get more complicated with each new generation because of differing hardware and Apple's OS-patching. If it really is that simple, awesome. I was initially looking for something written in 2009, if not 2010 in anticipation for the next iPhone release.

But yeah, I'll second Craigslist. I've sold a bunch of gadgets that way. If nothing else, you don't have to spend as much time dealing with scammers as eBay. Don't agree to meet your buyer in Public Alley #459 under the broken streetlight at 11pm and you'll probably be OK.

What do you think would become more "complicated" about it? Apple sells the phones without contracts now. All your info is in the SIM. Just use the instructions from the article to wipe it and pop the SIM out. Hell, the FIRST article that pops when you Google is about selling a 3G. I think you're thinking way too hard about this.
