Basically, a friend told me that her grandfather did a series of commercials for MTV around the mid 90s. He was elderly by this point and I guess the schtick was that this crotchety old guy was enjoying MTV. I think they were some of those 10 second, self-promoting spots they used to run all the time. Unfortunately, I didn't get specific details about any of the commercials. I do know that his name was Arthur Taber.
Aside from sitting through hours of mid-90s MTV that people put on Youtube for some damn reason, does anyone know a decent way of being able to find some of those commercials? Some sort of commercial database somewhere? Or if it's at all likely that I could contact someone at MTV and purchase such a thing? I don't really have any good ideas for how I could make this happen but I think it'd be a really cool thing I could do for my friend if possible.

Contacting MTV isn't going to do you any good and honestly, I don't see anyone going out of their way (and I know that people do some weird shit) to record 10 second spots off of MTV unless they were really something else, which these don't sound like...
