iPad: Sharing PDF files between apps

Graah, it is so frustrating that one application will be able to pull a pdf file from my email, but others won't, and it's further frustrating that I have the pdf file right there on the device but the other applications don't know how to grab it.
Aaagghhh. THIS IS SO POINTLESSLY DIFFICULT. I'm really happy with the iPad in so many ways, but this, ugh.
Anyway, most of these applications are able to download the pdf file from the net, so, here is where some creativity is demanded. How can I bounce the pdf file from my email to the interwebs? Are there any easy ways? I'm afraid I don't have any web hosting. Is there a free way to do this?
