Old Laptop - Sell? Recycle?

So I have an old HP laptop that got me through my first few years of college, I've upgraded to a MacBook Pro now and this thing is just taking up space. Should I throw this thing on eBay/Craigslist or should I just recycle it? Alternatively, is there anything I would bother doing with this? Moving into a new place. Could dedicate it to simply playing music all the time?

Thoughts?

A little more information than "old HP laptop" would help a lot.

Wipe it, install a copy of XP on it and donate it a school or something?

Old laptops make perfect music streaming/playing devices if you have some decent speakers you can attach. They also make good torrent boxes (the word "boxes" being used liberally here) because they don't take up a lot of space and don't require having their own kb/mouse/monitor/access from another PC over a network to see what's going on (although this really depends on the size of the hard drive).

That said, your definition of "old" might differ greatly from his, hers, or mine, so you should really post the specs. I'm assuming there is a forumer or two (like myself) that would be in the market for a low priced older laptop, and if you post the specs we could give you a ballpark of what you should list it for on craigslist if you decide to sell it there.
