Pure digital flip video white screen help

I have a first gen flip video that was working fine until recently. When I turn it on I only get a white screen. But apparently it still works, I can record with it and when connected to the computer I can get usable videos. But it's incredibly annoying having to plug the thing into a computer only to see that you're not shooting the video at the correct angle. Does anybody know what is up with the thing?
If it's broken beyond repair can someone recommend me a cheap, portable camcorder that record at 24 fps at about 640x480?
