Improving the Gaming Experience

This is my current set-up. Most of it is pretty basic though, so I would like to improve it. What would you recommend?

I have my systems plugged in all the time but for protection have bought a surge protector, an expensive one at that too, so that nothing fatally happens to my GC and PS2. I usually play one and not the other, so currently, my GC is seeing alot of play time, while my PS2 has not seen that much in weeks, I assume. Is it alright to leave them on the carpet like so? Normally I do put them on the carpet but usually play them while laying down on my bed, which brings another point.

Obviously the TV Screen is small and if I put my back to the fall, I can make out the text but its kind of fuzzy because of the TV quality (I know my eyes are fine, had them tested out a couple of months back.) I was wondering what kind of seat or pillow will be comfortable to sit and play on. Something like a beenbag that I can either sit or lie down.

I am pretty happy with this setup but then agian it looks so plain compared to what I see on here.
