I dl podcasts onto my iTunes account but for the most part only listen to them on my iPod. After 10 days or so when I refresh, even though I port them to my iPod daily, it won't update and dl new podcasts and I get an !alert saying that I haunt listened to them in a while and so it cancelled downloading them. I can't find where to turn this off in the settinngs. Any help?

You can't turn it off. You've just gotta watch a second of the episode every week in itunes or so to reset the counter.

I'm kinda confused by this. Don't you sync your ipod with itunes? It doesn't sound like you are but please clarify because syncing your ipod with itunes resets the counter. I do not have an iphone or itouch so I dunno if it's different in those cases.

I think it's the last second; that is, skip to the end and play until the next starts.

You can just right-click and select all podcasts as "mark as played".

I don't think this is necessary. I think just listening to the first second is enough to switch it from "Unwatched" (full circle) to "Partially Watched," (half-circle) and prevent that podcast going dormant. I have podcasts that I never make it to the end of (or anywhere near) that still keep downloading.

Oh, yeah. The last-second thing is for it to tally in 'Play Count'.

If you manually update a podcast feed (i.e. right click on the podcast and select "Update Podcast") it'll check for updates and this will reset the "unwatched" timer.

Does this reset the inactivity counter, though? Or do you actually have to play them to do that? I wouldn't be surprised if there was a difference.

    It resets the inactivity counter.
