Waiting for a price drop is just going to make this game seem like a waste of money for Nintendo. I usually like to wait for lower priced games, but in this case... if you want it, you're probably going to have to pay $50 now or watch S&P 3 never, ever happen.
Tonight, I just restarted with Isa on Easy again, this time with the changed controls. I got my first game over at the part where
baby of the boss at the train part swings Kachi from a crane above lava to her doom. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong that keeps me from losing at this part. Shoot one side to raise platform, shoot baby to raise up Kachi, shoot other side to raise platform, back to baby, repeat. Maybe I'm spending too long on the side parts?
Shooting the baby only ever seemed to get me a health kit. I've never needed to shoot the baby after that-- it's pure juggling the two platforms before your partner drops. Just alternate attacks between the winches and you should be fine.

It's a Nintendo game, but it's not a popular one. There's a decent chance you'll find it for cheap. I'm more than glad to have paid full price though. It's a fantastic game.

The baby thing will only lower her so far then it stops, so you're better off focusing on the platforms. Also, really take advantage of reflecting the missiles. It helps to use lock on to target the winch things, so target one, reflect a missile, then try to aim for the other while there are still some missiles in the barrage to use.

Yeah, I got Punch Out and Wii Music for £10 - they might be Nintendo, but even they know when it's a good idea to drop prices to retailers!
The problem for me is whilst Nintendo's games are obviously excellent, they frequently do not present a value equivalent to getting 3-4 major PC games. And because they never normally go on sale, there's never motivation to pick them up sooner rather than later - they permanently end up at the bottom of the 'to play' mental list. I could understand this attitude to pricing during the peak Wii years, but now that sales have slowed it's actually quite astonishing that they still have no 'Player's Choice' line or equivalent.
Of course, the other side of this is that 2nd hand copies of S&P2 are still expensive (since few people want to get rid of their copies), so I'm evidently missing out on something really special!

Wouldn't it be the opposite? If you can count on the price never to drop, then you should feel like you can buy it now, or anytime, rather than waiting for a price drop that may never come like with all the other games you buy.

BEAT DA BABY:
All shooting the baby does is give you a health pack and coins, nothing more. With Isa, charge shot one side then focus fire on the other until your charge shot recharges, then rinse and repeat. Send any missiles that appear back to the platforms, one per side (two appear at once). As long as you keep this up, you should be able to make it through okay.
Also, don't stand there and keep shooting the baby for coins. You will get a lot out of him, but eventually the lava catches up.
Cross posting from the VG deals thread. Found this at Newegg for $16 and free shipping. Can't tell if it's a sale price or not, but I'm thinking that's their standard price for it. It's a fantastic deal, regardless.

I bought it already. Amazon, $23. Still is right now, far as I know.
Man, I feel kinda like a dork for not realizing that all those "giant punch which causes an explosion that's nearly impossible to roll out of" can be easily countered with meleeing. The bird girl? "My blood is on fire?" Her entire second form folds up and dies if you time your melees correctly.

If it's not a laser, you can probably melee it, and should. That's where a lot of secret bonuses reside.
You haven't lived until you sent Buffalo Keepers careening into nearby machinery.

I made it halfway through Stage 3 before my arms gave out.
Necroposting because I should be punched in the junk for letting this awesome game sit on my shelf, unplayed, until now. So far it seems accessible even to my poor skills, but I haven't hit the real suffering yet (still on stage 2, because I hate to use continues).
Very stupid question: I assume there must be a way to dodge Stage 1 Orion Tsang's screen-filling laser ("I'll vaporize you!"), but I can't figure it out. Is it just a matter of timing, or is there a safe spot I haven't found? I thought the obvious candidates were the upper and lower right corners, since the beam fans out from his hands, but those don't seem to work.
Does anyone know what was the first rail shooter to have independent movement for character and gunsight? I thought it might be Cabal, but according to Wikipedia, lateral movement for character and gunsight were on the same trackball in that game.
As he's teleporting around, give him a quick melee and he'll teleport away from you again. If he gets the fan off, roll through it onto him, then try to melee him.

I just bought Punch Out a few weeks ago for $15.

How many bosses does this game have!?

And yes, stage 2 is still pretty easy.
