It's awesome. Got it for a discount too.


Anyway, I'm a complete newb at coloring stuff. I've taken one art class (basic art, it was sort of a joke), basic color theory, but I'm mostly self taught.

These two are probably my 5th or 6th attempts at computer coloring ever, and probably my 5th or 6th drawings with the wacom.

All of these started as doodles.


I tried to follow Bacon's advice on coloring planes + color theory, and these came out much better than I thought they would. I still need crits on coloring/outline/form/general look of the piece, etc.


Should I remove the speech bubble on the second one?


First took ten minutes, second about an hour and a half. The coat came out ok but I thought the coloring could have been a bit more crisp.

You should move the speech bubble, and add more rain. Also, the right hand as it enters the coat seems a little flat.

Also: what advice? I'd like to see it.

Hm, yeah, the right sleeve does look flat. Again, I'm new at this, still have to get used to indicating form in my coloring. This really started as a doodle so I didn't expect it to be exact.

His coloring is nice, not very detailed, but he looks mangy and scheming. Could work with or without the caption, as far as I'm concerned, lol.
