Whats causing this squeel?

The day before easter, i had front brakes and rotors put on my 2001 chevy silverado. The next few days after, i noticed a bad squealing noise thats more or less constant while im driving. Of course i suspected the new brakes but the weird thing is that the noise only happens when im not using the brakes. As soon as i press the brake pedal, the noise stops instantly. After a few days, i didnt hear the noise anymore but the past few days, its come back. It seems to be worse when im slowing to a stop, start to move from a stop, and turning. I plan on going back to the shop as soon as i get a chance but i've been working seven days a week, twelve hour shifts. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Maybe a caliper rubbing?

probably the back of the pad rubbing against the caliper. Some anti squeel stuff would do the trick.

Sounds like a lazy brake job. Take it back to whomever installed them. A properly completed brake job includes a thorough cleaning/greasing. I have also seen (I'm a mechanic...or automotive technician as they like to call themselves now) cheap parts just...well....suck. No Autozone crap, make sure you have some quality break parts installed. Napa's are what i use at the shop, if properly cleaned and installed (pad moving smoothly, slides greased and moving freely) I have zero problems with them.
