U.S. PS3, want to play Europe Blu-Rays, help?

I posted this in the technology den, but figured I'd ask around here too. I have a U.S. PS3 (Region A) and I want to play a Region B Blu-Ray, from Europe. Is there any way to make this happen, or is my only option to buy a $270 player? Seems completely stupid to me that as long as I'm willing to spend all the money required to get a movie from England and have it shipped here, I should at least be able to play it.

Alot of bluray movies are not region locked but if the specific one you want is then there isn't much you can do except buy another player.

I've heard that. The blu-ray details aren't out yet, but the DVD is listed as Region 2 locked, so I figure the Blu-Ray is as well.

Blu ray discs are far less likely to be region locked than dvd's.

I hope you're right. I've been waiting for the movie in question for like a year (Valhalla Rising), and I just want to see it as soon as it comes out; preferably in Blu-Ray since it's a very visual movie. But I won't pay almost 300 bucks to see one movie, no matter how good it is. If I have to settle for DVD it's not a huge deal.

Well Wikipedia has this quote regarding it:
Some current estimates suggest 70% of available Blu-ray (movie) discs from the major studios are region-code-free and can therefore be played on any Blu-ray Disc player, in any region.

Keep an eye here: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Valhalla-Rising-Blu-ray/11244/ They'll probably be one of the first communities to know whether the disc will be region-free. They're planning on doing a review soon after the disc is released.
