OK, so I've decided to stop just dicking around for a bit and commit myself to making a good finished piece. What better subject than a sexy woman deft of both blade and wand?
Stage one: sorta refined sketch. I have no idea at this point what I'm going to do for a background.
The first thing that jumped out at me was that her stance was slanted alittle to much. Even if you wanted her to be leaning to the left alittle, this still gives the hint that she about to fall over.
As for the background, how about a spooky pirate ship, like the Flying Dutchman from PotC.

Well, I've got her on a weird above-ish perspective. I'll try and put in plane lines. Slant noted though. I will try and fix it in the morning when I can yet again trust my eyes.
I think I might put her on a flying ship. I'm not painting that whole damn thing too, so maybe I'll put another flying ship in the distance to give that idea.
EDIT: Damn. I'm not getting it. Could you do a quick drawover?
I don't really have much to say about the figure cause it's pretty awesome; but you probably should've thought about the background before creating an image. Otherwise it doesn't really need a background. Building an image around one figure is like building a house around one toilet, it's just better to plan these things out ahead of time.

That's what I get for not doing complete work consistently. Damn.
Aside from the aforementioned slant (rotate it a few degrees in PS and it looks much better), the only thing that pops out is the perspective on the waistline. As the eye moves up the figure the perspective should become less extreme the closer we get to eye level. The shoulders are nearly parallel, while the feet are diagonally aligned. The waistline on the pants and the bottom of the vest should be halfway in between, but at the moment are closer to the same perspective as the feet. I also might twist one of her feet outward a bit to give her a slightly wider stance and some stability.
Why are your pictures always on orange backrounds?
God, I hate LCD's. The BG's look more brown than orange to me. The reason is because I don't like the glare of white BG's so I tone it down with this color.
Ugh, this is taking so long, I keep messing up on her face.
This is a really cool pic, can´t wait to see it colored.
I can see what people mean with the slant issue, it´s a problem I have been battling all my life as well.
Do you have one eye weaker than the other or, due to your posture while drawing do you hunch over your drawing, meaning that you don´t get a 90 degres angle, perfectly perpendicular view of your canvas?
Because it is very possible your drawing turnes a bit askewed due to this.
The best way to fix it, as suggested, is with post work; flip it horizontally and the problem will jump at you (in my case, it usually punches me in the jaw ).
I think the "Pencils" look a lot better. The ink job is kinda meh, there's no line variation and the image looks much more flat than it did.
If I were you, I'd just paint with the pencils instead of the inks. (If you're going to paint it)
I'm having the same qualms. On one hand, I need to work on cleaning up my lines. On the other hand, I like painting scratchy things. I think I'll do both.
It might not fit very well for your inked, neat style, but personally I prefer to render things "alla prima" where I work on one layer and go over the whole thing at once than piss around with seperating my piece into a million sections. It might be easier to set up compelling contrast with your lighting if you work on it more uniformly than one bit at a time.

It seems to look better when she's more upright.
EDIT: Oh. Scos already did it for me. Nevermind. Thanks, Scos. I'm working on the waist perspective and refining the inks now.

EDIT: Oh, and I changed some stuff too.
Duder, I wish I could do that. I barely know anything about coloring.
