I have a 4gb flash drive, and I was thinking how it would be pretty rad if I could set it up for recovery purposes. What I want is to be able to boot into some sort of linux distribution (preferably ubuntu, since that's what I'm familiar with), a bootable installation of windows xp, and for bonus points, a live usb version of xp.
The thing is, I have no idea how to create a multiboot usb drive. There are tons of tools for creating bootable linux/windows (e.g. unetbootin), but putting more than one thing seems to be more uncommon.
Is what I want possible, and if so, how do I accomplish this?
I am not exactly sure but I think if you boot to the live disc there is an option to create/install to the usb drive. A google search should return a nice howto for what you ask.
As far as booting to it you have to have a bios that supports boot to USB. Then all you have to do is set the boot priority to USB above your Hard Disk. Some BIOS have an option to show a Boot Menu that would allow you to boot to it as well. A google search should yeild positive results on this as well.
Indeed, the live cd does have an option to install to a usb drive. However, this is not my problem. My problem is setting up a flash drive to support multiple operating systems. Documentation on this is more difficult to find so far.

I found this there: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/boot-multiple-iso-from-usb-multiboot-usb/
It seems to do exactly what I want. Thanks!
