Blood Bowl PbP?

Hey All!

So I'm checking the forums looking for a new game to jump into, and I realize that I have never seen anyone attempt a Warhammer Blood Bowl PbP here before. This seems to me like a huge, tremendous oversight, and I'm left wondering why? It's a brilliant game with a huge fanbase, and seems to me like it'd be easily doable with only minor modifications to the rules.

So, fellow forum-goers, what say you? Would it be worth looking into trying to give this a shot? Has anyone seen it attempted before? Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to pull this thing off?

For reference, the full rulebook and explanation is located here: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?community=&catId=cat1290318&categoryId=1100006&aId=4800003

I think most people interested in Blood Bowl online either end up playing the video games or using FUMBBL. PbP seems like more trouble than it's worth, with all of the different modifiers and skill uses.

I'd be a little difficult, but I'd be up for giving it a try.

While I definitely, definitely agree that it'd be complex and annoying, I think it may be manageable. Here's my current thoughts: Using a Google Document Image for the gameboard, shared between the two players (and maybe a ref if people want to), the players can very quickly and easily update the game board and just link their many, many d6 Rolls from IC or Orokos. Whoever's turn it is would get to roll Armor checks and Injury checks for the other player, and would also be entrusted to pick the worse option on any die if they're tackling at a disadvantage (the other player and the peanut gallery can of course add their input if the wrong decision is made). Other than that... *shrug* I know I'm missing things. Also, I apologize for the ugly gameboard template. Any visual-design folks are more than welcome to make it better or yell at me to make it better if they tell me what to do:

I'm not terribly familiar with the game, but from a glance it seems like this might be easier to do via Wave with the BattleMappy gadget than in true PbP format. BattleMappy provides a grid and tokens that can be edited by both players, and rolls can be done inline with any of the various dice rolling robots like Random Lee Twenty.

EDIT: Also, I'm looking through the rules now, and I find this game FASCINATING. Brings back fond memories of Mutant League Football from my childhood.

Hmm... I actually don't have a Wave account, and as such am entirely unfamiliar with the program mentioned. Is it a real-time program, or is it a graphics program that generates a postable image?

It's a real-time thing. It's essentially a collaborative version of Google Maps with grids built in at a couple of zoom levels. You can create markers and draw lines and shapes, and everything has a couple of text fields attached to it for descriptors. Everybody who's included as a participant in the wave can edit and move every element.

Example (from the D&D game I'm running):

Also, if you'd like a Wave invite, PM me an email address. I have quite a few left.
