I recently ordered three of the laser cel prints (CTS: The Wandering Age - awesome) and want to have them framed. Apparently 12 x 18 is a nonstandard size, and the local framing shop wants to charge close to $100 per print for custom matting and a frame. $300 is too much, even though the prints are great.
Does anyone have any ideas for or experience with basic frames that still look decent? Or another method of displaying the prints on the wall without using thumbtacks or tape? I've seen some frames online, but it's hard to tell how they'll look or what the quality is like.

If they're non-standard size, your only real bet is framing.
Trust me, drop the $100 per print. It's worth it. Space them out over a few months if you need to, but in the long run it's the best idea.
I've spent over $1,000 in the past few months on framing and my living room looks all the better for it.
EDIT: Googled 12x18 frames. They're all over the place. They're going to look pretty amateur hour, but it'll save you the money you don't want to spend.
I ordered some comic prints a month or two ago (same 18x12 size), for them I just ordered some black wooden frames from Amazon, I think I spent about $50 total for two frames and shipping. While they aren't the greatest of things, they seem sturdy enough and look pretty decent.
Thanks for the advice, everybody. I think I'll comparison shop at a few more frame shops to see if there one that is reasonable. Framing will be the best for long-term preservation.
