You're not telling me anything I don't already know.
I wouldn't feel emotionally turned on, though. It was just an involuntary physical reaction. But still.
When was the last time you made the concious decision to get a boner from something?

Yeah he's really put in a great effort to lose the weight and he's still going strong, I believe. I don't think Mike drew him that skinny, to be honest. Mr. Kuntz is good people.

Yeah, that panel was fucking top notch. I wish there was a recording of the one at 09 that I stupidly missed.

I'm sure it's fine if it's cleaned, stored, prepared and cooked properly.
do you know how prion diseases work
Twitter Steam
Isn't that the same as Mad Cow? Are cows any less susceptible to it than primates?
And isn't is usually located in the brain anyway?
it...
it doesn't work how you think it does
uh... thanks for that?
Is there a reason you can get it from eating human meat and not cow meat? I'm reading the wiki page on Prions and on Kuru and not seeing a whole lot here.
just that it doesn't work the way you thought it does
Well I mean he was responding to me when I said you could probably eat human meat the way you could eat cattle meat, if you took care to prepare it correctly.
Now there's some kind of reason why you can't (prions?) but I have no idea how the danger of prion infection (CJD) from human meat is any different from getting prion infection (mad cow) from cattle meat.
It's not terribly helpful to tell me that I have some kind of fundamental concept wrong here but not tell me how it's wrong or what the actual correct answer is.
because we are careful to watch for any signs of prions in our beef supply and any animal showing symptoms is investigated and euthanized if it comes up positive
this is pretty simple to figure out
surely if we were eating human meat regularly we'd be doing this too
What I'm saying is that for all the squeamishness surrounding the concept, the danger of prion infection don't seem to be a very good argument against cannibalism.
It's just something we don't do because of social and cultural taboos, a lot like adults drinking human breast milk (to bring this conversation back on topic).
I think the social/ethical implications of this are a little outside of the scope of this hypothetical.
I mean we are talking about using people as meat, here.
Really it wouldn't matter what happened to the people with prion infections, as long as you don't eat them.
In the US, it's illegal to use an animal for both meat and research purposes, meaning we don't cut the brains out of cows in meat packaging plants.
Cannibals get CJD because they love some tasty brains.
