Nintendo Wii is $509.89

Remember the good ol days when consoles came with more than 1 controller. Well before companies decided to sell them between $29.99 - $59.99. After purchasing a wii console with 3 nunchuks, wiimotes and 4 classic controllers I realized this inexpensive machine just cost more than my xbox 360 premium system. The 360 has live which allows you to play online without having to buy more controllers. All your buddies can stay at home and each of you can play together.

However, if you have a wii and you want to have this same multiplayer fun you need to cough up some dough for the same experience.

Where is my wiisports online?!

You didn't need to buy the classic controllers.

Actually once you purchase every face plate available for the XBox 360 you'll realize that the Panasonic 3DO is by far the best deal of this generation.

The entry level cost for the Wii is great. Everything else is "optional." ;)

Couldn't you just share controllers with a friend if multiplayer is that big of a deal for you? Seems like overkill.

And you could have used some old gamecube controllers as well. It's what I've done.

Before things like rumble, speakers, analog sticks, analog buttons, wireless capabilities, battery packs, LED lights, tilt sensors and accelerometers were built in? Seriously, shut up.

    So technically, doesn't that situation require (4 x $400 =) $1,600? The 360s don't pay for themselves, ya know.

Yeah but what you forget is, each of your friends must also have bought a 360 and the same game you want to play. not only that, but with wii you only need to buy one house to play it in. With Live, you need at least two houses, each with its own TV. And even if you want to have friends over, you still need at least one power strip for all the plugs. Not so with wii!

So you see, 360 online play puts you and your friends at least many hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, counting mortgage payments. I mean, the answer is clear.

It's nothing now, but all the online games will be free when they come out.

There is definately damn good reason for the wiimotes to be expensive. That being said, while the classic controllers are useless (gamecube controllers FTW) the system really should have come with 2 wiimotes + nunchucks even if they had to boost the price.

If you bought four classic controllers, you'll also need four Cloudeagle SNES controllers, which you can buy from me for $50 each. Your Wii isn't complete without all four!

Did I say four? I actually meant eight. Get 'em while they last...

This "posting in a legendary thread" crap is pretty stupid.

It might have been cool, but not when you start in with that nonsense within ten posts.

anyway, jesus christ, nobody held a gun to your head and made you buy several hundred dollars worth of extra shit
