So having just recently bought a PSP, and having a long repressed urge to play Phantasy Stars, of the online variant, I think I may have to finally give in and pick up PSP2 when it comes out.
What kind of crowd we got around here for multiplayer shenanigans?
I'll be there. For a bit, anyway, until I hit my 15 hour mark.

So I have a question about PSP the first one. Why do shotguns suck so bad, or am I doing it wrong. Also, is hording grinding stones till I get better items a bad idea. And last in my list of noob issues, should I try sticking to just one weapon type, and one Photon Art, or spread the love?

Man, the demo has me sold. I had my doubts from the first PSPortable, since it never really grabbed me, but the gameplay in this, and the layout, is much more fun. Yay for endless item hunts again!
Announcing an expansion that will render the base game obsolete when the base game isn't even out yet is kinda :?
Unfortunately, that's the sort of thing that happens when we are left waiting nearly a year for the release of a game stateside for some inexplicable reason.
That and I don't think Sega of Japan cares about us all that much :P

If it's any consolation, we probably won't see the expansion outside of importing it.

I'm honestly not so sure. SEGA has actually been rather good about importing anything Phantasy Star. And I'm totally okay with an expansion being released at some point after the base game - if anything you can work on your character until the expansion comes out state (EU too I would surmise) side, then import it into the expansion. Nothing lost, really.

I was going to make that point actually, but figured that a years time between the base release and the "expansion" would be enough time to enjoy your money's worth. It's not like the expansion will take less than a year to release in English.
Also remember that your money towards Phantasy Star games is funding future expansions and other large releases here in the US or UK. If said games don't sell well, don't expect SEGA to export them any more.
Blah blah blah, tl;dr = Use your money to support game franchises you like, and if you don't like released expansions, don't buy 'em, and SEGA will get the consumer "hint".
Can't wait for this. Got a PSP Go and docking station so I can play it on my TV using my PS3 controller. Psyched.

Whoah, docking station and PS3 controller? I've all but stopped playing my PSP and MHFU due to comfort issues. Can you elaborate on that, perhaps provide some links? Is a PS3 required too?
It requires a PSP Go because the Go is the only one with bluetooth functionality, also requires a PS3. You can pick them up used at gamestop for $150. I play a lot of MH and the like so that, plus PSP2, plus MHF3 makes it more than worth it for me.
It can be done with older models but requires CFW, and that basically stops you from using PSN.

I'll have to look for that - I've got two PSPs already, with one CFW'd because I wanted to fiddle with Japanese only Monster Hunter quests. So getting this setup for MHFU would be awesome.
So I got a text from gamestop saying it'll be available today, "pm". So I'm going to guess it's in the evening delivery. So if it is, is anyone else getting it today? Because I'll be so up for multiplayer.

Just now got back from picking up my copy, actually.

You can get PSN to work on CFW with PSN Lover or whatever it is I ended up using to play Peace Walker online.

You are correct, I didn't realize this had been developed since it was fairly recent. Still need a key from a retail or PSN version in order to play online, at least for now.

Probably not going to sink too much more time into the demo granted, but definitely once the retail version hits.
Too busy during the week now though.

PSP Go (white) is 199.99$ on Amazon, and many other places had them marked down to 200 instead of 250.

Don't get too far ahead of me Gilder!
Thanks Sony!

We're all going to be level 150 and I'll have the Lame D'Arc, and it'll be unsealed, and I'll be Miku, all before you get the game.
Should I though?
